THOMPSON TAKES OPENING NIGHT FEATURE WIN - THREE IN A ROW FOR STARKS AT SKAGIT SPEEDWAY

5/9/26

Alger, WA - With 40 days to go until the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup, The Hill’s Premium Meat Company 410 Sprint Cars made their season debut at Skagit Speedway on Saturday night with Tyler Thompson taking the victory in the first round of action. Other division winners included Trey Starks winning his third straight win in the Exclusive Quality Customs 360 class and Cole Logan going back to back in The Skagit Casino Resort IMCA Modifieds.

Thompson had things easy in the Hill’s Premium Meat Company 410 Sprint Cars as he jetted out to an early lead that was never seriously cut into by his competition, even as he weaved through traffic. Thompson would go wire to wire, leading all 30 laps for his first Skagit Speedway 410 win ahead of Robbie Price and Levi Klatt on the podium. Price set fast time on the night. Thompson won his heat race, as did Levi Hillier.

Cole Logan went back to back in The Skagit Casino Resort IMCA Modifieds with an impressive charge from ninth to the win. Logan was riding third until lap 19 when he went to the far outside of the track and overtook both Adam Holtrop for second and Rick Smith for the lead in the same corner for the lead. Logan would streak away to collect the win, his second in a row ahead of Smith and Tyson Blood, who snuck into third late. Logan won his heat race as did Kyler Moore.

Trey Starks put on a clinic in winning his third straight Exclusive Quality Customs 360 Sprint Car main event. Starks led every lap and built a 9.6 second lead at the end of the feature, the largest margin of victory seen this season at Skagit Speedway. Jesse Schlotfeldt and Steven Hendrickson battled for second place in a brilliant high - low battle for 20 laps before Schlotfeldt took over for good and collected the runner up spot, with Hendrickson coming home third. Levi Klatt was quick time and the heat winners were Starks, Hendrickson and Bubba Decaires.
