COLLEGE & KIDS NIGHT

Alger, WA – It's College and Kids Night at Skagit Speedway this Saturday, June 1. Every kid with a school ID will get in for five dollars, as the action on the track stays hot with racing aplenty. The KarMart 410 Sprint Cars are back and joining them once again are the Skagit Aggregates IMCA Modifieds and the Hornets.

For their fifth week in a row, the KarMart 410 Sprint Cars hit the dirt at Skagit Speedway, but a repeat winner has been crowned for the first time this year. Trey Starks broke the streak of new winners last Saturday, May 25, as he notched his second win of the season. Starks used a back straight-away restart to fly around Colby Thornhill, cruising off to his second win of the season. Starks won on opening night and has been on the podium in three of the four races this season in the 410. Starks grows his points lead to 38 over second place Robbie Price. Colby Thornhill sits in third, 46 points back of Starks’s 461 total points.

For their third time this year, the Skagit Aggregates IMCA Modifieds will return at Skagit Speedway. Tyson Blood found himself atop the podium for both races this year. The last time the Modifieds hit the track was Saturday, May 11. Blood sat in third place during the race, waiting in the shadows to make a move until the two cars in front of him got into each other, allowing Blood to squeeze by and take the lead. Blood sits atop the points with 80 in total over Ben Gunderson and Jeff Westergard, who are tied for second with 70 points.
The Hornets reunite with Skagit Speedway for the second time this year, and Brian Michelson has the lone win. Michelson led the final two laps of the A-Main on Saturday, May, 11edging out Colin Sims and William Zottneck, who got his first Skagit Speedway podium. Michelson leads the points battle with 125 total points. Colin Sims and Howard Vos sit in second and third, respectively, with 107 and 102 points.
