Skagit Speedway
SATURDAY - MAY 18
Alger, WA – Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled week three at Skagit Speedway, where the action on the track is heating up. The KarMART USA 410 Sprint Cars are back for the third time, continuing their thrilling streak. Joining them in this high-octane spectacle will be the Sportsman Sprints, and making their season debut, the Hornets.
Throughout the first two weeks of the season the 410s have seen two different winners. Trey Starks got it done on opening night but fell short of going back-to-back. Instead, Colby Thornhill picked up his first 410 win at Skagit Speedway. Thornhill held off Landon Brooks and Lane Taylor to get it done. He had to work Brooks in traffic to make the pass for the lead but once he did, Thornhill set sail to the win. Starks leads Robbie Price in the points battle by 10 through two races.
The Sportsman Sprints are back at Skagit Speedway after their thrilling debut on opening night. Alden Ostrom secured the first win of the year with a late race pass around Kira Zylstra. This year, the Sportsman Sprints promise to be an intriguing battle to watch in points, as last year’s point winner Levi Klatt has moved into a 360 Sprint Car. This shift in dynamics means that a new champion will be crowned at the end of the year, adding a thrilling element to the season. Ostrom leads Zylstra by three in the points battle through one race.
For the first time this year, the Hornets return to Skagit Speedway. Last year saw Howard Vos win the points title over Brian Michelson and Ian Buck. Vos had two wins, five top fives, and seven top 10s in nine features. Michelson found victory lane three times, along with eight top fives and eight top tens; however, Michelson only raced in eight features. He finished the year 18 points back of Vos.
